DR S HAMEED

Male

MBBS (Bangalore 2002), MRCGP

Dr Hameed completed his medical training in Bangalore University in India in 2000. He came to the UK in 2004 and completed his GP training in Scotland and with the Cleveland GP Scheme. He was accredited in 2010. Dr Hameed joined our Practice in October 2022 and works full time. Dr Hameed is our Senior Partner. Dr Hameed's special interest is in minor surgery and joint injections. Dr Hameed is also a member of the Local Medical Committee (LMC).

DR KHWAJA MOIENUDDIN

MBBS (Bangalore 2000), MRCGP

Dr Khwaja joined our practice in October 2022 as a GP Partner. He qualified from his GP training in Scotland and works at the Surgery full time. Dr Khwaja was approved as GP Trainer in 2020 and mentors our GP Registrar and medical students.

DR MEHVISH RIAZ

MBBS – Newcastle University MRCGP – Northern Deanery

Dr Riaz joined our practice team in 2015. She was born and brought up in Middlesbrough and trained locally through the Durham Tees Valley Training Scheme. Dr Riaz has completed many charitable trips for reconstructive surgery camps for over 14 years. She has a special clinical interest in women's health and also mentors our medical students. Dr Riaz has a great passion for cricket!

Nurse Practitioner

LISA WEATHERILL

Lisa joined our Team in October 2016. Lisa is an experienced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Prescriber and her background is as a Specialist Respiratory Nurse. Lisa was awarded Queen's Nurse in 2023 in recognition of all her hard work and contributions during her nursing career – well done on such a fantastic and well deserved award.

GP Registrars

The registrars join the practice for periods of six or twelve months and are trained under the supervision of Dr.Khwaja. The Registrars may record consultations for training purposes. If you are booked into one of these consultations you will be made aware by the receptionist and a consent form will be completed. You may feel that you do not wish to be on the video, this will not affect your care, however, we do ask that you make the doctor aware.

Sophie joined our team as Practice Nurse in June 2025. Sophie qualified in September 2024 and has experience in Community Nursing. Sophie is competent in wound care, general patient care and is keen to develop primary care skills.

Janet joined out team in October 2022. Janet qualified in Phlebotomy in June 2021 and is enjoying taking up a clinical role with blood taking, blood pressures and ECGs. Janet now has a dual role supporting the clinical team.

DEBRA MCINTYRE

Debra joined Albert House Clinic in 2008 and joined South Grange Medical Centre in January 2017 following the merge of both practices. Debra works full time as a Health Care Assistant. Debra’s role includes blood taking, BP, ECG, new patient medicals, smoking cessation and spirometry. Debra has NVQ 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care and she is also qualified to administer flu, pneumococcal, shingles and B12 vaccines.

Midwife

After your pregnancy has been confirmed by a positive home pregnancy test, please ring the surgery to arrange your first antenatal appointment which occurs at around 8 weeks. The midwife will look after you for the duration of your pregnancy and up to 28 days after the birth.

Practice Management

The Practice Manager has overall responsibility for the management of the Practice; including: personnel management, administration, finance, provision of service, facilities management, Health & Safety, security and training. The Practice Manager supports the Partners and pro-actively manages the Practice in providing an efficient and effective way by developing the quality of service to patients, reviewing practice performance and contributing to the future development of the practice.

Holly joined the Practice as Practice Manager in December 2020. Holly is responsible for the management of staff, administration of practice finance, practice organisation, health and safety, management of premises, non-clinical patient welfare and complaints liaison manager.

Rachel has worked in local General Practice since 2002 in a range of administrative and managerial roles. Rachel joined our surgery in June 2022 and works part time.

Our hard working reception and admin team keep the practice running smoothly. They will deal with your queries and make your appointments. You can rely on the discretion of all our staff in protecting your confidentiality.

Jennifer joined our reception team in July 2014 and works full time. She was promoted to Data Admin in September 2021. She also helps with Prescriptions and Secretarial duties. Jennifer has a BSc Hons Degree in ICT which she received in 2012 at Teesside University.

Laura joined our admin team in July 2011 and works full time in Reception, answering the telephones and greeting patients. She also deals with New Patient Registrations and stock ordering.

Nicola has worked in local General Practice since 2002 in a range of administrative roles. She joined the surgery in September 2016, she is a experienced Receptionist & Prescribing Clerk.

Sonja joined our Team from December 2017. She previously worked in Kings Medical Centre for 15 years and moved with Dr Sykes to Haven Medical Centre for the last 13 years. Sonja is a very experienced Medical Administrator who will work as Scanning Clerk alongside general admin and reception duties.

Jennifer joined our reception team in July 2014 and works full time. She was promoted to Data Admin in September 2021. She also helps with Prescriptions and Secretarial duties. Jennifer has a BSc Hons Degree in ICT which she received in 2012 at Teesside University.

MARGARET S

Margaret joined our Reception and Admin team in November 2018 following a move to Redcar & Cleveland from Essex where she also worked as an experienced medical receptionist. Margaret joined the Secretarial team in November 2020.

Nicola joined the surgery in January 2012 as part of the reception team. She was promoted to Full Time Secretary in March 2019.
